It points out a variety of Blacks and then takes the text "as is" and declares the message the Lord intends to teach through these people in the Bible.
While it unapologetically notes different Blacks in the Bible, this collection of sermons could be presented or marketed as a set of great sermons. In fact, if you remove the cover and the title that's what the reader will find--great sermons! The main author is a pastor, and his co-author is on the staff of his church in the US. Since the Scriptures have been misused to denigrate blacks, both in Africa and elsewhere, the authors seek to change the perception that Africans were cursed.
The overall aims are twofold: Since good sermons should establish the context before making application, the authors are to be commended for attempting to do this. The style, especially the sermons by St. Clair, is more inspirational than academic, but this book is certainly a useful resource for those who may share an ignorance of African presence in the Scriptures.
